ADVICE PLEASE GUYS ..how much would you charge to clean a connie roof every month.? obviously to be done when i do the windows. its approx15ft x 12ft and i need to stand on some step ladders to clean it. ive got an idea but want to know what you guys think, regards andy

£40

£40
seriously ben
-
I do many houses where roof gets done each clean, i charge £30 for the lot, house con and con roof as altogether takes less than half hour so basicly £10 each month for the con roof as its as easy to clean as windows when done reguly.
-
personally i dont think you have a hope for getting big money on a monthly as im sure you know... if it is a whopper i.e. con out of proportion for the size of house maybe you could tweek a bit more, but i reckon you would be doing well to get the same price as the windows after all you will be mainly sweeping leaves and the occasional bird poop that has not even had a month to harden.

£40
seriously ben
how long does it take?
-
depends on the "clean", is it a brush over or a deep clean
-
I have a few that I do every clean and it just a wash over both I charge a extra £15 and they are happy, the whole house with roof takes less than 30minutes
-
ive been doing it for two + years at a ridiculously low price, i priced it when i first started infact it was my first ever canvassed job . i recently put the price up tbh they werent happy. just wanted to see if i was unreasonable

so yes i was right,£40
-
Price on time?
I do one house where I clean house and glass roof every time.
£25 for 30 mins work if that.
-
well if its taking you an hour to do do whole job, price the whole job at an hourly rate that your happy with. unless your round is now full in that case price it at a slightly better hourly rate, but imo the premium prices for con roofs etc can only be got away with cos people only usually have it done every year or two.
-
yeah with the windows . i guess you are right ben . thats a reasonable price i think . someone stole it away from me for 17.50 lol. this is not a newbie this is a guy who has been doing it for 14 years
-
she wants it done every month because they live near a building site and always getting filthy from the dust etc
-
so what was your price then KEYSER? for the windows and for the roof?
and is the new guy doing both for £17.50
-
if it would only take 25 -30 mins every month then £20 then window clean price on top.
-
well you got to remember i was a newbie when priced and im very loyal to my customers and the price but it became a grudge clean . 2 and half years on and inspired by desmond i put the price up . 2 customers on the same street , next dooor neighbours infact same price nearly identical . did the 2 for 30 quid .. mad i know but i was naive . neither one is happy i put the price up to 20 each .. even then i knew it was underpriced but you can only increase so much right ..
-
ive targeted a certain few that are under priced . mainly from when i first started . put price up or get rid.

i totally understand you putting the price up, thats what i was talking about if your round is not full £20 an hour is still ok. A gutter for you to do it on the cheap and then lose it thats an insult and for £2.50 annoyed for you.

Never bin, just increase to worthwhile price. ;)
Was the fella who took this job the same one who took the other few bud?
-
never bin, i always give away to another windy my work that i don't want anymore
-
no . but you know him. cant mention any names but he's probably the cheapest window cleaner in our area . seriously darren . it was a hard job to do . im no slouch and it made me sweat. i am a bit annoyed tbh because i did advise him that that even at 20 i was too cheap but he still undercut me i see no sense in it . he cant complete the work he has , ive known him for a while now and he never hits his monthly targets.
-
you are right ( never bin). but you know the ones who wont have it. i had one in colsterworth . another grossly under priced . i told her im putting the price up she said ''no chance you can put up everybody elses but not mine''
shes gone lol . got pretty annoyed at me said she was gonna spread all sorts of cr+p about me .i laughed that one off . i seem to attract the wierdo's
