Title: Water saving tip
Post by: Morph on March 24, 2006, 01:37:57 pm
I have a brother who lives in a beautiful part of the north island New Zealand.  They have a water shortage.  All his water comes from collected rainwater.
They have a saying:
"If it's yellow, let it mellow.  If it's brown, flush it down."
  They live by that.
If Londoners alone applied that rule, they could save over 6 billion gallons of water a year

sounds good! so how does he use the rain water? one of my customers has a massive rain water tank from his drainpipe 2-300 liters at a guess!!? it would cut down water meter bills! if you have one. i was only thinking of that the other day of use rain water then conect to filters.
any plans ideas on how to apply this  ???

He's not a window cleaner.
But that is their water source, bottled water for drinking, everything else from the rainwater, through a very primitive seive filter into the house plumbing.  So, it makes them careful about their usage.
Just pointing out how much is actually wasted!
