I was wondering if there's a way of putting 2 websites on one Adwords account? I've looked at campaigns but I'm not getting it :(

Shaun, not quite sure that i am following you, but if you are looking to have say two different adverts which send the user to different websites could you not create two campaigns and just enter different web addresses where you enter the web address when creating your ad.

I have my account but have carpet cleaning on it and would like to add dry cleaning on as another website.

You have to be carefull not to violate google adwords double serving policy.

Why do they make everything complicated.
Should be cas easy as Shaun phoning google saying what he wants and let them get on with it

It's pretty simple really.....as in the link above.
If your offering lets say carpet wet cleaning (HWE) on one web site and also dry cleaning of carpets on another, Google will not let you serve 2 adds because you would then be able to direct 2 adwords adds to your business.....although they would be two different web sites.
Therefore, you could have 2 adds for lets say ''carpet cleaning London'' either dry or wet, that would take up the two top positions.
Whereas in effect you could offer the same options on one web site.
The alternative is to have 2 google accounts and 2 bank accounts.......but I suspect you would be found out and risk having your accounts brought to an end. If Google didn't notice it, one of your competitors probably would.

As far as I have read it, it doesn't really apply. The only area there might be crossover is curtain cleaning and possibly rug drop off. The key is will it trigger more than one of your impressions for the same business.

The way I see it is, if you are double serving from the same business and selling related products or service, google will probably not allow it.
Unless of course, you were selling ladies play toys from site "A" and blokes boys toys from site "B" ;)

Add different keyword to your campaign and add a link to your landing page of your website showing where people need to go for the second type service.
Although it does not give you exactely the result you want it will help you gain that type of work.

I don't understand how people don't know they are looking at adwords. When I look on Google I see a great big orange square ad sign next to the adwords!

The big question is .. Has anyone seen a drop in business since google has changed the adwords box and put the word AD there

It has gradually got worse for the no 1 position over the years that is definite.
Many factors include the local map and adwords extensions mean a number 1 position can easily end up below the fold which means scrolling down and the majority don't do that.
Remember most people are punters not marketers, they don't see the distinction.
This is why if your area triggers a map it's far more effective to put your energies into that.

as long as they are no in the same ad group your fine, you can have as many as you like. just use different campaigns
respects.
