Title: Arm not spinning
Post by: Mike Halliday on March 14, 2014, 12:53:24 pm
My 12inch mosmatic FSC arm is not spinning. Everything looks fine and I can turn the arm with my hand but as soo as any pressure goes through it then it stays still

Any ideas?

The bearings iffy the arm turns when you turn it because its a neutral load but the pressure loads the bearings. It could also be the heads at the end of the arm are pointing in the wrong direction so it don't make it turn

It just stopped mid job this morning so it's not the jets more than likely the bearings iknacked.

Might have to invest in a new one :'(

I've had something similar. It was the rotary head on mine. It had a crack inside and water was leaking in to where the oil/lube is and jamming the arms.

On a Whirlaway it was this part http://www.centurywise.co.uk/view.asp?pid=478

I'd try bearings first though

12" mosmatic have a 'special joint connector' check this is not simply out of line. May be simple fix

it is not just the spray pattern on the jets, even dirt.
Is the machine that you are using working correctly.
have you changed anything else, hose to the unit.

Thanks for the offer :)

But this has prompted me  to  sort out my 16inch FSC that has been sat in the shed for a year plus I have made up a twin turbo lance with 2 smaller turbo heads that where rated  too small for my machine....but together they give a nice clean
