Think they can Dave have hard floor brushes for R48 but never used them. Decent weighted slow speed rotary does the job for me hard floors.

They are okay but really you need the R48HD machine to get best results.

That said I do have one remaining weight kit for the R48 that makes quite a difference to its performance.

Cheers. Is that due to the weight of the 38 v 48 or the pad sizes?

The standard 48 & 38 dont have the weight as you say.

Many of the 38s out there are 620 rpm also.

Okay for maintenance work but not for renovation.

So how does the 48 compare to say a levigator?

It doesn't really.

We have built a Cimex from scratch here that runs 3 x 8" heads with either 200mm Ring diamonds or 3 x 3" on each head.

This is okay when the floor is flat and works well on Terrazzo and Concrete.

It doesnt remove lippage well and we use another machine for this.

Also our 48 machine can take up to 100kg in weights.

If I was to build one for someone else we would be over Levighator money for it.

It needs 2 people to lift it too even without the weights.

It is possibly closer to the larger Levigators in size.

Jamie, would the weight kit be of any benefit on carpets. And what is the cost.

Too much resistance on carpet Mark.
It is a USA only option where the motors are higher powered.
We found it to be okay on the HD version but too much on the CR48.
It has given us a good blueprint to make one.
The Big Wheel Kit raises the height of the axle and transfers more weight onto the head so is a worthwhile upgrade.
