Hi my booster pump on my r.o. died so stripped it off, but now got LOADS of waste water and hardly any product so want to put a flow restricter on in the hope of getting more product.
Its a 300 gpd system does anyone know what flow restricter i should be using? I see there are different ones... 350, 420 or 550 Im not even sure what this means?
As I say I have ALOT of wastewater so im guessing I will need either the lowest rating or the highest?
here are some i found on ebay.....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Inline-Flow-Restrictor-550-1-4-Pushfit-for-Reverse-Osmosis-System-Membrane-/130897724923?pt=UK_HGKitchen_SmallApp_RL&hash=item1e7a1cc5fb
Any help appreciated

its a vyair pumped r.o. all in one jobby. pump def knackered i left it running continuously for days oops.

and whats your tds , you should have a flow restricter on the ro anyway

You will already have a flow restrictor and the pipe exiting the membrane.
You could try fitting a push fit inline tap so that you can manually adjust pure/waste ratio.
But really you won't achieve the same rate you will getting before with no pump.
I've got an old 400 gpd Vyair RO in the garage which I don't use anymore.
If you can find out the exact pump you have, maybe model number etc. I will look to see if my one is same or similar.
If it's any good you can have it for free if you want but you will have to pay postage.

Thanks Andy thats very kind. Im just after an immediate quick fix as I will be buying a new unit soon.
I know it seems strange but there was no flow restricter on the unit.

I would definitely just buy an inline push fit tap then to stick on the waste pipe.
It will do what you want but your membrane life won't last long.
Vyair sell the push fit taps.
