Title: Hose reel hose rotation
Post by: PAUL ERITH on March 12, 2014, 01:40:48 pm
Is it possible to rotate the hose on the hose reel or will i end up with loads of little coils on the floor the reason i ask is my hose is starting to show signs of wear but i only use half the hose so i was thinking about taking all the hose off and turning it round so the worn part stays on the reel most of the time and i can get another few years out of it  ;D ;D

Thanks Paul

Just about todo this myself, but I am going to find a nice quiet road and wind it all out.

Hose is lasting well BUT if I rotate it now it should maximise life of the hose.

I have also done this.. if you have a spare reel, you can just wind it from one to the other .

Best bet it to do it on a warm sunny day.  Find an empty road, reel out the whole hose and leave it lying in the sun for 20 minutes to warm up and soften while you enjoy the sun and have a sandwich (but put that sunblock on!).  Then reconnect it at the other end and reel it back in.  That'll minimise twisting and coiling.
