Got a pure freedom set up. Three years old.
Pump flow is spluttering a bit and less powerful recently. It's like there's some sort of airlock.
Ta, Steve

Sounds like an airlock then. Pump quite possibly ok.
-
I got told when a pumps broke, it instantly stops no sign of it going?
Sounds like an airlock
-
Thanks lads. It's just I've never had a pump go, so don't know what do expect when it finally gives up

hi Steve,I have a purefreedom set up,two years old,I had a similar fault, and also thought it was the pump,I replaced pump,no better,it turned out to be the controller, had it repaired by purefreedom £50 all ok now
Try connecting the pump direct to battery ,you will then see if pump is ok,I was told by purefreedom to do this after the new pump was no better
-
Sounds like air lock, take the connector off what goes in the side of the hose reel let the water run for abit then try it 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
-
Another possibility is faulty connector. May even be some gunge on any gauze that stops muck entering the pump partly blocking the flow. Maybe small split in a feed pipe before pump?
-
Another possibility may be the battery. Check your electrical connections and fuse replace any that are worn or damaged. Poor voltage could mean the pump struggles for power.
what is the displayed battery voltage with the pump on and then off?
Does the control display a message when the pump struggles
.

airlock kink in the hose or a loose connector or faulty check these first

my pump was playing up today.its about 18 months old.6 month old leisure battery.
first job (commercial) i get the 47 footer out.no problems.then put back in van and get my 25 footer to finish the job and i get a sudden rush of water then it slows after about 10 seconds to a dribble.flow controller on 60.
anyway i take off strainer and clean it out.still no joy.so i disconnect hose from reel and put it back in tank and run the pump full blast.still no luck!! >:( >:(
ended up running the pump at full blast on 99 and just about managed to get my work done at 4pm.the flow is still a lot lower than it usually is on 60!!
battery was reading 12.6 this morning so i know the battery ok.
any ideas lads? ::)roll
ive checked all hoses for kinks.could it be a faulty hoselock connector from my pump outlet to reel?

Bin the flow controller, re-wire the pressure switch on the pump, attache a small switch (£2 from Wilkies) and away you go.

Yeah them flow controllers are a pain in the arse !!
I run a 100 psi pump with no controler comes out fast but would like it even faster 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Dazmond... Get to maplins, new pressure switch £2.50 match the one you need and fix
It in seconds :)
-
would that pressure switch work on a wcw backpack
-
Thanks lads
Weird thing is been fine today. Got to last job and it stopped completely, so had to suck the water through which then got it working again.

Hi guys funny I'm reading this topic and my system played up today!
Was running at 45 and then my system kept cutting to de while my flow tap was open, I finished the job but my bat warning kept flashing up so charged battery all day and just checked it again and battery fine at 12.9 but when I turn flow rate up to 99 it cuts out to de?
No leaks or blocks etc and all was fine untill I did auto cal yesterday where before it was on c32 but auto cal put it didn't to c29 so I've put it back up to what it was before and gonna see how that goes but what's the calibration setting for and whys my pump going into de at 99?
-
you need to increase the cal mate.
-
Cool I'll do it manually see how I get on, what's most of you guys settings on the cal out of interest?
