Title: New windows
Post by: kurt on March 11, 2014, 08:45:02 pm
Ive had 2 houses that have had new windows. I dont know what the fixers used to wipe them down but they wont clean with the reach and wash.they seem to be oiley and the brush just spreads it around. Im going to have to do a 1 off clean by hand. Whats the best stuff to use and has anyone else had this prob ?

Could be either sealer, water proofer or fitting protection grease.
Stick a bit of fairy on them and then clean them with wfp twice and allow to dry.
You should get rid of the greasiness but if its sealer it will still be there.

A while back I did a new conservatory and the fitters had sprayed the whole thing with silicone. I know they used that because the lady said they left behind several cans.

Cleaning it wfp seemed a nightmare as the water instantly beaded immediately after leaving lines over the glass.

I did a few panes trad and it just seemed to smear badly but after the glass had dried from using wfp, much to my surprise, it looked spotless.

Maybe it's the same problem?

These wasnt like that . I looked when they where dry and they were still bad . I could see the oiley smeers . Tryed again still no good . I can tell its not shifting as i do it . I tryed a couple of pains by hand and could see the oil ? be moved around with the blade . The 1 custermer is going to pay more as she knows its not me . So ill give them a good soapey trad so i can see up close till its gone .
