OK, so I keep meaning to mention this.
How accurate do you believe your tank size, as quoted by your supplier, to be?
I have a little Brodex 250 system and have always carried 10 x 25 litre poly's full of pure as reserve.
Now, when refilling the 250 litre tank it usually takes seven poly's, thus 175 litres. I do overfill the poly's, but not by that much. Refilling the poly's is the same, seven to empty (from ballcock full).
I reckon at a push it holds little over 200 litres, a bit of a difference from that quoted.
Anyone have a tank that actually holds what is claimed?
Maybe not a lot of people know, unless you decant or refill from a measured source, how would you?
Interested to hear though

i often believe this, i dont think they hold what they say

It could be that the barrels are not 25 litres but 30-32 and your 250l tank is accurate?

I reckon the barrels when filled to the top are quite a bit over 25. There is a 25l fill line on mine I think.

You are probably right. I never fill my 25l barrel up though, I'd be worried if I did, it's in the van for when I get caught short! ;D

i think your overfilling the barrels or the tank is a 200L?strange.
mind you even if the barrels hold 30L that would only be 210L if it takes 7 to fill up?

Someone clever like Spruce will be along soon to tell us that by measuring the height, width and length you can calculate the capacity .......... ;D ........... im too thick to know the equation though

that's right above...length x width x height = total volume...i wonder tho if they take the baffles into account when giving out the sizes of tanks.

Weigh one barrel on bathroom scales to get a 'tare weight' - fill barrel with water and re weigh
Subtract the tare weight, then you can calculate how much water the barrel holds - 1 litre = 1kg (or 25kg if filled to capacity if it's a 25ltr barrel)
Multiply

This is why I wont use brodex ever again. I had an e-compact for about 8 years, great machine, awful company to deal with. Poles were heavy, but rectifying issues felt like it was a game of convincing them they had to sort it.
I too noticed that it only held 170 litres, complete rip off.
