had 6mm and wont be buying again, stick with the 8mm microbore dave.

6mm wears out to quick and springs a leak everywhere, brought two new lots 18months ago,1 real was replaced free of charge after 6months, and the new real is show signs of bad wear, and the other reel was replaced last week after 18mths,holes everywhere, and also kinks a lot more than the 8mm

the 8mm which I give away after 4years of daily use,is still being used today with no problems and must be over 5/6 years old now

any particular make Franky?
I thought thermobore was the bees knees but mine clicks and clacks when I wind in it's so hard - I can pull plant pots over with the kinks  ::)roll

I have for the first time gone with 6mm microbore, Gardiners own, it's the nicest hose I've ever used & cheaper than other places too! I've replaced my Gardiner 8mm hose which is about three years old- it's done very well but it was very worn in the end.

To my surprise, I've only had to increase the dead end up by one number & the flow setting remains on 2. Thought I would have to increase the flow by a number or two at least. I've still only got tie wraps on all my connections & still zero leaks or air ingress!! ;D I've also changed the location of my non-return valve & it's made huge difference- don't have to prime the pump at all now.

the last few weeks ive been using a reel of microbore that alex sent me FOC a few years ago.loving it at the moment.i find it very easy to loop together and drag around.mind you its been sitting on a claber reel for a while unused.

its my new summer hose now.ive not ruled out going back to thermobore and hot water in winter though! ;) :)

Will it stop the flow easily if you kink it?
