would a 100 ah leisure battery be enough for two pumps and it being charged on a split relay charger
Or would you go for a second car battery, one already installed and fed by split relay charger, and split the charger between the two??

better to have two battery's, or one big one, semi traction 150amps

Depends on your mileage
Wether it will keep it topped up .
I use a car battery rather than a leisure battery , they cost peanuts from the scrappy and work fine .

we run two pumps off one leisure battery, we charge it on a trickle charger every night, works fine

Yup, I get my old batteries from garages and tyre dealers at about £5 to £10 (even got a couple for free). When they're worn out I take them down the scrappy and get about £5 to £10 depending on weight! Got £38 for five dead batteries in December.

I used to think they guys who were buying old car battery's from scrappys were just being tight.
I've fried 2 leisure battery's in as many years. Over £100 each time.
I'm now running a car battery from the scrappy. Cost me a tenner.
Works a treat.
I'm 3 months in.
I wonder if it'll last me a year or so? Something tells me it will.

Yeah, I use a smart charger and stick the batteries on most nights. (Mind you Dan the Man got me a monster 150ah jobby from a factory he worked at repairing farm equipment - it came off some combine harvester thingy - with two other 110 amp all for £15. That one lasts me two days.)

well my car battery has been on 18 months (its a 100ah /900 amp cranking battery from a scrapped van) it also came in very handy when i left the van lights on and flattened my battery .
set of jump leads from system battery to van battery , no waiting an hour for rac ;D

When I was using a trolley I flattened the van battery by leaving lights on. I jump started the van from the trolley even though the trolley battery was much smaller.
