so guys what do you use day to day?
ive been using standard thermobore for 2 years now.its heavier than standard microbore and slightly thicker due to reinforced walls.i had no problems using it with cold until i started pumping hot water through it then it blew a few days ago as most of you know!binned now.
anyway i had some spare brand new standard microbore on a cheap claber reel and WOW!WHAT A DIFFERENCE in manageability!its almost like pole hose.very easy to drag around and loop together which lets face it is a big part of our working day.
i have lots of days where i only move the van 2 or 3 times in a day and use almost all of the 100m length.
id got used to the thermobore then switching to microbore was like going from an SLX to an extreme pole!its a joy to use and flow rate is still good.
i think the problems i had with hot water were mainly due to heat and pressure building up.sometimes it was taking 20 seconds to turn the pump off after turning off the water at the brush end.no matter what i did with the calibration. i couldnt solve it.
ive heard analogue dial controllers are easier to set the cut off.can you get them and fit them to a pumpbox?as thats what i use with a digital controller.
in my next van im still thinking of having 2 fitted hose reels.one with microbore for cold water used most of the time and my heavy duty reel with thermobore plus for hot water for very cold weather, first cleans and add on jobs where i have no access to outside taps.
if i could solve the pump cut off problem then hot water could still be an option but only used occasionally where i think it would be beneficial.thus cutting down on gas expenses.
normal day to day maintenance window cleaning would then be cleaned with the easy light microbore and cold water.then for a real dirty job i could easily just plug the heater and hot reel in,in mins.
ill be getting a van that will easily fit a 500L upright tank in so there will still be plenty of room for 2 reels, heater and gas bottle plus all my usual trad stuff, poles etc.

I gotta be honest I don't really notice any difference of pulling hoses around.
The only thing i would like is a electronic poles where you push a button on the side and it automatically goes up. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

my 100m 6mm microbore is a bit worn from going round rough corners on the estate.
I have had a new 100m reel sitting in the van for about 2 months now but I cant see why I need to chuck all that cable away.
I just bought some 8mm brass joiners and cut out the bits that's had a hole in.
Less that 5 meters in all but I still have 95m or so.

We use Gardiners 6mm everyday, and its great. No issues what so ever.
I built my system and after trying many diffrent products/equipment, I beleive ive got it spot on.
The only thing i'd change maybe, is slightly bigger pencil jets.

I'm a bit different and use 30m of microbore with 50m of aqua dapter red pole hose on the end. So 80m in total. I think it's great but probably not everyones cup of tea. I will try gardiners new all season pole hose soon instead of the aqua dapter and see how I get on.

Yes we use the new all season pole hose, and again its ideal. The original pole hose that came with my CLX was shocking, but this new stuff is pukka... makes such a diffrence when finishing off and cleaning the hose before putting back into the van.

I use 100m microbore and descent reel. I find it makes working so much easier. One job I use the whole 100m over a field and the wet grass keeps my hoses clean. One the pump issue, I had this problem and I can't exactly remember but if it's Shurfflo (maybe I spelt that wrong) I took something out of the black bit at the end which you can unscrew and bypassed the wiring which solved it. I got anolgue simple flow control and I put a switch from maplins so you can turn on and off while working without altering your settings. It makes things simple and every little helps to make working easier and save you time. Time is money and may cost you an extra house a day.

Only ever used microbore and it's perfect.
