Title: Are we window cleaning geeks?
Post by: jonboywalton75 on February 28, 2014, 09:01:36 am
I've been Wfp for over 5 years, and spent  a fair wad
Just been reviewing which bits I've spent on have been beneficial.
A trolly for £500ish, rubbish,  went on the tip,  literally.
Backpack,  better but only for certain jobs,  definitely not for full time.
Poles are another matter,  just got an extreme, pretty expensive but looks like it's money well spent when I think of the  benefits of the progression from xtel poles to where I am now.
Thought hot might be good to try in the future but am now thinking that it looks expensive for what it might do for me.
What I always look for is to make the job easier and faster.
Another thing I have never bothered with is controllers,  there seems to be lots of threads recently speaking of faffing about with them.
So I think I will  keep it as simple as possible.
Less things to break,  I hope  ;D

Depends on who does the work.

I have made my system and electrical gizmos.

Most window cleaners jaws drop when i show them my van. Very simple stuff but makes my life so much easier.

Just a simple thing of 12V LCD gauges. I can monitor my van and pump battery whenever i want :)

ive been up for trying a few different products over the years.most of it has been good(extreme poles, goosenecks, brushes, quick loc sockets,aqua-daptors etc) but ive probably wasted around £1500 over 4 years.these include:

gas heater, bottle, thermobore and ongoing gas expenses

trolley system and barrels

various poles and brushes(glass fibre, hydra and heavy vikan brushes).

its a learning curve though.i learn from mistakes and i earn a hell of a lot more money than i did before when i was on the ladders.

most of the stuff ive bought has been VERY USEABLE and made my working day easier and more profitable.

regards

Started out with elephants leg htexl pole 2.1 kilos :o So when I see debates on the merits of slx 22 poles against clx 22 poles it makes me smile :).
