If you've got a grand to spend.
I'd agree with above post.
Farm it out for a percentage.
Much easier

Will you get training and insurance too as there is a very big difference betweeen running a henry over a carpet to actually cleaning it

If your going to only do occasional carpets a tidy starter machine is a craftex sabrina cost about £700inclusive of vat.
You can get a good usable selection of  cleaning chems,
Bit of change from a grand.
No monster power but well capable of cleaning to a good standard.

 :o

£1000.00

With all the training as well, I'd strongly agree with the above, sub it out for a commission of 15-20%

You need to double your budget for quality training and a good quality machine.

Morning Saia if your customers have been impressed with your domestic cleaning work you will need to impress them with your carpet cleaning work( a tad difficult with that budget and 4 people including you to train to a good standard i assume)otherwise you might lose the cleaning work too there  are far more pitfalls with carpet cleaning than general cleaning.Regards Alan

I would say the lift of a machine is the major difference with carpet machines in cleaning power and dryness.
using the better chemicals and pretreating the carpets for the correct amount of time and picking the best airfreshner.

My uncle brought one of the first truckmounts into the uk 30 years+ ago.
That system is still working today and is huge.
Does a quality job cost a pretty penny too.
buy a truck mount mate. lol
Now if you compared a truckmount to half these top of the range carpet machines the truck mount blasts away the power but I dont use my 250bar pressure washer to clean carpet.
No need and there are enough floods in the uk already.
Same goes for general domestic carpets as most are not that bad and No you do not actually need a machine that cost £2k but it will be quicker and a tad better but not really that noticable.
I can say I have dealt with some proper state carpets using my piddly little craftex machine which I have not had any complaints about the finish but plenty of compliments.
I got mine before the increase in price and paid £712 including enough chemicals and towels to last me a year.
You could sub out to someone who in return would get you work but I tried that and found they only wanted to take no give.
