are you underpricing the jobs simon or not having the right equipment, if you are trying to cover a really large area with low pressure steam then you will definately struggle. What surface are you removing the gum from and what problems are occurring that is making it take longer than you thought it would.
-
Was it steam So? I thought you'd use high pressure hot water?
-
High pressure hot, twin set up. 2 of us on it for 5 hours.
Paving stones were easy the block paving was a pain clay block really old as we were cleaning it seemed more was appearing.
I think because it was a first using the set up.
It was a lot quicker than the low pressure steam I borrowed of you Trevor that was an experience not to be repeated.
Any way did 3/4 of the job back next week to finish then might get paid!

Gonna say, steam would take forever.
Out of interest, did you use hot water when using fsc or just use hot with the lance to gum?

Do you not need steam for gum...?
If you pressure wash gum you need hot water and with steam you need the heat and a chemical - I would have thought you would have covered this on a course ::)roll

No never done gum cleaning/dont ever want to do...could not think of anything more boring. Why do you need chemical with the steam.,,,because there is no flow?

The detergent when hot breaks down the veg oil in the gum leaving mostly powder.

You win ...I know nothing about gum removal (nor wish to).
Although I am slightly disappointed in the choice of your new steed ..that might cause an argument.
