Off of Sutton & East Surrey Water website today (www.waterplc.com).
Company applied for Drought Order 17th March.
The statutory notification period ends on 24 March 2006. A further 3 days are then allowed for Defra to receive objections from interested parties. A Public Hearing will take place on 29 March 2006 at the Reigate Manor Hotel where an Inspector from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister will review the application and consider any objections received.

Good afternoon everyone,
Representatives from our industry will be attending this meeting to put our case forward for window cleaners. These representatives include the APWC, FWC and manufacturers of window cleaning equipment and also hopefully 1 or 2 national window cleaning companies.
To date, both the APWC & FWC have hit all government departments and local MP's for support and their will be an online Petition available this evening on the APWC web site for people to fill in.
The more people we get filling this petition in, the greater voice we will have. The petition will be handed over at the meeting and also forwarded to NO10
Many Thanks
Andrew

Hi Everyone
As Andrew has said both associations will have representatives at this meeting and it really is vital that we get as much support as possible with this petition. Please get as many window cleaners as you can to fill it in. All i can say is lets keep our fingers crossed for next Wednesday as we will be asking for window cleaning to be excluded as we feel this is our best option. If we suceed next week we should be able to do the same at the others.

Hi all
last night i sent a email to my local Mp for support on this matter,it does not affect me at the mo but i feel it will soon .
I think the way ahead is to highlight the high amount of money being made by the water company and the fact they are not fixing the problems (LEAKS)due to this and low rain fall = NO WATER
Goverment need to step in and make the water company spend some cash i think. :D
get your Mp involed thats what i say
