Title: Scratched glass
Post by: Matt - aquatec on February 23, 2014, 08:37:31 am
Hi all...

I have a customer with a few scratched pains.. Done with the original builders clean...

Can anyone recommend a good company to potentially polish them out??? She doesn't want the argument with the builder or the expense of several new pains as they are quiet large..

Area is Knutsford. Cheshire

Cheers

Matt

You can remove surface scratches but if the are deeper enough to feel, I would say you cant

A local guy to me tried everything he could to get rid of some scratches; even jeweler's rouge and a special attachment on the end of a drill.

Didn't work.

Wow! You mean he bought a bit for his drill and that didn't work! OMG

That is EVERYTHING tried then.

DEFINITELY DOESN'T WORK

Tish's mate tried a bit on a drill. Myth busted.

Soupy, if the scratch is deep enough to feel, it won't be able to be repaired; light surface scratches yes; anything deeper, no.

With £10 worth of kit and half an hour no, you can't repair a deep scratch.

With specialist equipment, knowledge and experience it is possible.

Possible when you buy proper kit, if this is to be believed.

Why don't they contact the builder's to replace the glass ?, I had it on a new house told the owner about the scratched glass, they contacted the builder's, next month all the scratched glass had been replaced.  ::)roll
