I think its must to have your website linked to your g+ profile. Just not sure if better be linked to your personal profile or business one. Also, there is a great buzz going on about the so called Authorship, so make sure you have that feature activated too. You should be able to find some how to videos on Youtube, or idealy seek help off a digital marketing professional.

Simon, thats Google's social network. As its developed by Google is deemed to add the most weight to your website in terms of SEO amongs the rest of the social platforms, if used correctly.
If you have a blog and post on there regularly, you can then publish the content on the G+. If your content is engaging and draws attention, ie comments and +1s this can prove beneficial to your website. There is much more to it though.
Some find it better to stick to the good old networking, repeat and referrals  ;D

Chem2Clean, I dont think Google will see this as a duplicate content. If you have a wordpress website you or whomever is maintaining it should be able to upload a social buttons plug in. From that feature, providing you have a G+ account, you just click on the G+ button and you get redirected to your G+ profile. I've been told this is the best way to promote your website content as opposed to sticking a link directly on G+. Even better would be if you can get other people, ideally your customers, to recommend your articles in the above described way. It's just that im still to convince someone to do that  ;D

If your interested to know more about G+ see Mark Traphagen's profile here plus.google.com/+MarkTraphagen/posts. This guys is G+ genius

Hope this helps

Thanks, some good reading.if we all added blogs on our g+ and then shared the blogs, we might get some seo juice.
