What is a good, high HP engine for a pressure washer? I would be looking at around 20 - 24HP, preferably water cooled but would look at air cooled ones too. I want to put another van together, and want a high flow (30lpm) pump, twin operator with twin boilers (I know Lee, I should just buy a Falch ;D)
I have a Zeta 30lpm twin operator at the moment in a trailer, it works great, but it really thirsty on the petrol, and dont really want to set it up with twin boilers, then have to take the boilers off at a later date when i buy a diesel. Would rather get rid of the trailer and set it up properly once and for all with the boilers and the diesel engine.
So, what are decent diesel 3 or 4 cyl engines that are cheap(ish)? and suitable for what i need?

Throw the pump( but not the conversion plate) on ebay and fit a bigger pump.... http://www.malcleanse.co.uk/interpump-275-bar-30-lpm-pressure-washer-pump-t2830-p-6232.html?page=24

Do that and I'll have the pump and trailer. I like my Lombardini

I love my lombardini that i have in the van, LDW1204, 21lpm.. but i want something for the second van, very similar but for use with gum removal etc, hence the twin op twin boiler set up. If only the Zeta was diesel.. :-\

I run on petrol it aint that expensive to run, how much cheaper is it to run diesel?
How much do you save on a 5 hour shift?
Simon

I run through about 20L of red diesel on an 8 hour shift, machine on and hotbox on (they run from the same fuel tank) which costs me about £15. Thats running non stop, hot water. I can run it all day without the hotbox, on about half that.
What petrol machine do you use mate? what HP? and how much ££wise do you spend running it flat out, all day?

50-60 litres of red on a T3H per full shift.
Today we have a new member of the Falch Crew! ;D

H&M skid mounted set-up, like Rob bought from me.
Will fit straight into the back of a transit.

Not wanting to spend that much to be honest mate. Just trying to work out exactly what i need. The machine ive got in my van at the moment is a good all rounder. Really need the second machine to be the same, with scope to use it for gum/twin op jobs when needed.
Lee,
That seems like a lot of diesel mate.. those twin hotboxes must drink the cherry ;D

100c mate, split to to lances, great on gum. Doing Piccadilly train station at the moment. Start at 10 again tonight.
-
And that's nowt mate, using a Putzmeister 500 Bar on the streets. That uses nearly 100 litres a night, 5 nights a week. We have 1000 litres delivered every fortnight just for that machine.

Matt
Then Lombardini, 23hp engine with 30-40lts per min pump, plus hot boxes, should be ideal for twin operators, or one kick-ass machine for single operator. As long as you have the water supply.
Again speak to Rob, he did do some changes to the H&M.

I have bought a lombardini 1204 like yours matt just before xmass. It's 29.5 HP and is a beast. It's on a Nixon jetter with a hawk pump that does 3000psi at 37lp or 4000psi @ 30lpm. Has an electric hose reel and when it's finished being set up will work via remota control! can't wait to get it in the new van!!!
;D ;D ;D

I have a 48 hp Yanmar on the van - 4000psi 54 ltrs/min - wired remote and the pump has "made in England" cast into the casing. A new one is circa £22k with all the toys

Hello mate, haven't seen you in a while, hows things?
Yeah the 1204's are beasts, I've had to replace a few things over time, but its a good runner. I was thinking about up rating the pump on mine, and running twin ops, but i have nowhere to put a second hotbox (its skid/van mounted) so i was going to twin hot box the Zeta, but i dont want to run a petrol engine all day.
Where did you get the 1204 from? ebay? I've been looking but not much coming up lately. If any similar engines pop up give me a shout as i want to replace the zeta with diesel. I should get decent money for the Zeta trailer.

One on e bay now

Yeah it's been on a while. That's the first turbo one I've ever seen to be honest. Not sure id need the turbo ;D
Also, I'm looking for one that's already set up with a flywheel etc because for that one id have to get a flywheel made with all the pulleys etc..
-
Blastaway has found somewhere up North that does that sort of thing. Why pulley ?
Gearbox it with a flywheel spigot.
