When screwing a brush on a Gardiners resi neck how do you get the brush to be tight and facing the right way, I am really struggling with this simple job and am starting to think I may be thick ???

If it doesn't line up naturally, add some PTFE tape to the threads. A wrap of insulating tape will suffice if you have no PTFE. ;) I tend to just force the issue these days! :)

I don't put it on tight, I keep it slightly loose so the brush adjusts into awkward
hard to reach corners.

Yeah little bit of tape should do the trick.
-
I just screw it on tight - if the brush is upside down I unscrew the two screws on the cup and turn the brush around and screw up again.

He does like a good screwing!

Thanks for that will give PTFE tape a go.

I usually take everything to the kitchen sink and run hot water over the fittings. It makes it a bit easier.

This is why I changed to quick lock, also there is then no way the brush can get knocked and loosened so its lop sided whilst working 3 floors up.

Ahh good point Gordon Thanks

QUICK LOC fittings for me or a fixed gooseneck.i use to hate the screw thread fittings.i could never quite get them to line up dead straight.or i used to knock them and they d work loose or id screw them on so tight it was a faff unscrewing them off to change brushes!! ;D

I use the plastic label of an ecover bottle to go
Over the thread,
Level the bottle in your bucket for an hour
And I falls off
Works a treat
