Is it 2700kg (or 2900kg) with the payload - as in the weight of everything?
Or is it 2700 (2900) PLUS payload ?
Thanks dudes

The number written on the side is (there or thereabouts) the maximum weight in kilo's the van is allowed to be.
-
That makes no sense to me whatsoever , but thanks god thd reply!
What is the number on the side of what !?
;D
Thanks again ;)
-
2700 or 2900 is the gross vehicle weight (gvw), that is the maximum legal weight of the van including whatever you are carrying.
-
Sorry, meant to say, the payload for the 2700 is around 1100kg depending on exact model, the 2900 is about 1250kg.

Lol. On your passenger door it will say 2700 or 2900.
On the drivers side it'll say something like dci 100
And it'll be on your log book and inside the drivers door on the b pillar.
2700 is 2,700 kilo's maximum total weight. As in, if you drove over a weigh bridge (a big scales, for vehicles) you can't weigh more than that.
2900 is the same principal but you can weigh 2,900kg.

If you're still unsure, test me or post your registration up and I'll tell you what you've got.

Just been on a weight bridge
The total with my fat arse was 2960 kg

I only ask because not that long ago (page 4, '1247kg payload') there was a post by someone thinking they could put an 800l tank in one. I suggested 650l would be a better size, and offered up my reasons why. But of course, as is usually the case on here, i was poo poo'd for being too cautious. Actually Simon from sherwood cleaning said he was in the process of fitting an 850l tank to his nissan primastar, i wonder if he has read your post.......
On the plus side, at least you are not too far over your gvw, a little less water, or trim down the other stuff in your van and you should be fine :)

Ok. I'm 95% sure I have the 2700
MA05 FNG
Can't find my logbook.
ON A PLUS SIDE , I don't usually ever have the van that full. I had everything in it just to go to the scales .
Easily done though
Oh dear, that is more than a quarter of a ton over! :-[

Yes mate 2700
-
But the weighbridge reading was 2960kg, so even if it was a 2900 he would still be overweight.

how do you guys find parking in these vans, getting ladders off and on, i know they have rollers on, but how do you tie down ladders when needed

Doddle parking mate. They're quite slim. With good visibility.
Ladders-doddle too. I'm 6'1 with quite a good reach. Shoulder press the ladder up, no worries.
Then, stand in the rear tyre to do up the ladder clamp and open the front door and stand on the step to do the front one.
I'm on my 2nd Trafic and love them!
Would only upgrade to the transporter when funds allow.
