Title: Getting my noggin around a 2 man system

Could i have the one pump and controller, then fit a shut off tap to each hose (before or after the DI) then if we only want the one pole on, we can just turn the second one off?

Im DI only. Any other ideas lads? Best way to do it basiclly

Y piece after d.i, splitting into two hose reels.  have a shut of tap on one of the splits to stop that reel being fed when not in use

You are overthinking it.

Tank - pump - DI - Split - Hoses - stop end.

When you are only running one pole just don't plug t'other one into the hose  ;)

But leave 2nd reel connected when not in use. ...

Running two pole and hose lines is possible, However be aware water will want to follow the easiest course. So if you have two poles at different heights most of the pressure will go to the lowest pole. You nay find that the pole waorking at a higher level or with more hose does not have sufficient flow.

The pressure difference between the two poles will also make calibrating a control more difficult as the control is trying to reconcile two different pressure levels. To work efficiently two pumps and controls would be better.

Easier if you just filter the water straight into the tank.   Always better to have two pumps in case one breaks.

No. One pump is ok. I have never had an issue with different pressure. You might notice it a bit on a 3 storey but not really a problem.

Running two poles of one pump puts additional strain on the pump as it tries to work against different pressure of two lines and poles. Working at low levels might work. Two pumps will be more efficient and flexible.

I was thinking of getting this pump  as it can just replace my single pump
