hi guys can anyone suggest any decent boots and waterproof jackets, we have tried loads and after a while they always leak, is anyone has used some for more than 6 months and they are still dry we would apprecaite a pointer please, any less than 6 months use is no good as you need this much time to find out if they will be ok
thanks

goretex light explorer boots from bergaus is what i normally wear.feet dry and comfortable.they usually last around 2 years worn all year round.
around £120 a pair
i recently bought some black leather rigger boots(much to my girlfriends delight! ;D)from B&Q for £45 and they are great for the winter months!not only do they keep your feet dry and warm but i get cheeky comments off the ladies! ;D ;D ;D
on the jackets front i recommend a north face goretex shell.not cheap at around £160 but they do keep you dry and you dont sweat in them.
i would also recommend ski pants in winter.TKMAXX usually have some very good quality ones cheap.mine were £30.usually they retail at £140.

Stanley Riggers. Not 6 months yet but I only paid £40.

I agree, I've had mine nearly a year and no leaks.

I hate the way they rub off the hair on your calfs though! ;D
But dry as a bone and with thermal socks too, very, very warm.

Sprayway gortex, 250 quid from most outdoor shops. They bring a new edition out every year, ive had mine since 2009 and it still looks brand new, no leaks what so ever, if it gets dirty you put it in the wash, and you can buy gortex waterproof spray which you give it a spray with good as new

Military surplus goretex lined boots, grade 1 used, £30. This is my 2nd winter with them, and yes, they are still waterproof. By the way they are £50 new if you are sniffy about that kind of thing!.

Three years out of my first pair. Still waterproof when the red heel insert collapsed. Soles still looked pretty much as new. Warm and dry all the time. Steel toecap, steel plate in arch of foot for those odd pieces of wood with nails in that your customers love to leave down the side of their house. So comfortable and warm that I wear them to walk to and watch football (5 mile round trip). Utterly, utterly brilliant when paired with army issue double-knit sole socks (I choose black):

Fiver a pair if you buy three or more pairs.
I've recommended this combination many times in the past and I don't think anyone has ever taken my advice, so I offer the idea more in hope than expectation.
