We've had our 4040 ro since August 2012.
We're a 2 man set up using 500-600 litres per day.
So we've been using it for 18 months totalling around 306 days ( full days )
My water measures 185 from the tap so not too hard really
I checked the tds yesterday and its reading 29. rechecked it several times and still around the 29 mark.
After 18 months should we need to replace the membrane ?
-
29 is high for RO output.
the lower the better, it should be under 10 really. before DI

How often have you changed the prefilters ?
Have you left it to stand over Christmas for a couple of weeks where it may have dried out ?
Darran

Ours has been in for 18 months and still producing pure at 2 ppm with 115 ppm input. As per Darran, regular prefilters are very important to long membrane life especailly with the cost of them.

Mine lasted 12 years. Changed it when it reached about 015 TDS.

12 years. No way.
What were you doing to keep it going that long??
-
Straight up, Harrogate tap water is very soft. Regular 3 monthly filter changes. Never use resin. Buetifull ;D

Mines going on 6 years and is still getting the tds down from 210 to 12ppm.
