Title: What to pay leaflet droppers ?
Post by: Ian101 on February 08, 2014, 01:13:20 am
As none of my local leaflet dropping companies use tracking devices on their drops so they wouldnt be able to prove that they had actually dropped my leaflets instead of torching them Im gonna employ my own .......... (can anyone suggest a simple easy tracking device ?)

Not sure what the going rate of pay is ........... im assuming £xx per thousand is the way to pay ??

Any help / suggestions ?

I find this sort of thing is better too.  It helps avoid getting enquiries from all the places with poor access etc.
I've been let down previously on various levels and have found the old adage "If you want a job done properly, do it yourself"" holds true.

I assume because he doesn't have time. I pay my current one £7 an hour. He does 10 hours a week for me. I have paid £6.50 an hour.

Nowt wrong with going out on a Sunday , I only target certain estates and areas me and my nephew can cover a 200 house estate in about 30 mins .

I dont do big mass drops for reasons mentioned above . Mike

I pay £7 an hour and a bonus of £2 for every job gained. If you can keep one for a while they get an idea of what you are after and will avoid the kind of work you dont want.

Vin has taken control of the system for delivering, i still think, if you have the time, to do it yourself

Ian, we use our own people on a self employed basis they get £60 per thousand on a solo basis with £5 bonus for every converted lead that comes in.

Depending on the area they drop between 100 and 150 p/h

As above bob, if they amble along in a rural area then 10 hrs if they get motivated and drop in a more condensed area easily get thousand out in 7 hrs

We normally recommend 500 drop in a day this is a nice amount to drop without getting bored the drop rate is defo higher doing it like this as everyone we employ can do this within 4 hrs

And it's ideal for mums, semi retired, students as they are not committed to a full day

Lol nobody has trust on this forum, if you do what smudger does by paying per thousand and £5 for any customer from the drop i doubt they will try and stitch you up, better still go out with them so a bigger area gets covered or even better still than that canvass and use the leaflets for custies that are not in.

How do people deal with payment and invoices? How many are willing to invoice you and declare it to tax man?
Title: Re: What to pay leaflet droppers ?

Everyone we have used are quite happy to give receipt, in fact if they didn't we wouldn't use them.

It's upto them as self employed to declare income, there is a paper trail to show we have paid them for delivering leaflets and claim it as a cost in the accounts submitted to the tax man

got to pay 7 per hour or you will encourage skiving .  no more than 4 hours at a stretch leafletting or skiving is 100% guaranteed

a good way to check its being done is give them a route thats long and thin, so its easy to check on them while in disguise, driving by in a borrowed car  wear a wig etc .   ive done all that so many times .
just before they set off tell them u are popping to a not so near town and will be back later . a skiver will be in a cafe within 20 minutes so dont drive away far

How about false nose and glasses?
Or an Alex Ferguson mask?

Seriously? You've borrowed a car and driven in disguise many times?  Why not just check on them in your own car?  What difference does it make if they see you?  Surely it would be better for you if they knew you were keeping tabs on them?

That's either not really true or so funny you should be in a TV sitcom.

Why not just use a gps tracker?  Then you wouldn't need the false nose, glasses and beard and the borrowed car.  And trackers are cheaper than a wig.

Hi vin
We done a fair few leaflets last year and always looking to improve on previous drops
Would be good to have a chat with you about leaflets if you have time ?
Is there a better number to call you on?
Or would it be better if I emailed you my number or vice versa?

Just a thought; choose a random house in the area you expect the leaflet person to deliver and give the a knock. Show them your flyer and tell them when they get it through their door to give you a call and they will recieve a free clean when they show you the leaflet?
