White marks as in mineral deposits? They are there all year round. Just this low sun shows it up.

Not really sure tbh juat left after blading. Had to cloth them.also noticed them on leads more. Think it was the sun showing them up as you said. Had to double even tdiple check eacjh w indow. Is there any way of avoiding them ie more water on mop

If you're near the sea then it could be salt.
Cleaning salt off using trad is a right bitch to do. And before any shout about change to wfp, it's can be just as bad with wfp.
Plenty of water and keep changing the cloths for clean ones. Also, if you can, change the water regularly as well and keep rinsing the mop out.

Ahh that must be in, yeah im on walney island, barrow-in-furness. Yeah there was alot of salt on tgere i could feel ir when i was mopping. Thanks for that

When I was 100% and if I could and if the windows were bad enough, I used to use the customers hose to quickly rinse the windows down first.
The thing I hate about salt is you think you've done a good job and 10 minutes later all the white lines and smears appear.

change the water more regular and launder you mop heads, buy some spare mop heads and change them during the day as required.

Soap powder - I've heard of some strange things used for window cleaning but never soap powder.
Fairy contains silicon for that 'hands that do dishes can be soft as your face' effect which leaves smears that can be seen easily when the sun is low at this time of year. It also contains some nasty and harsh chemicals and leaves a residue which means the glass doesn't stay clean for long especially when it rains or when it's windy and you work near the coast.
I use GG4 for the jobs I do trad which is mainly shops etc but recently I've been doing a few shops with fairy simply because it means the glass doesn't stay clean for very long.
Quite a few on here swear by Ecover though.

Thankyou. Whats gg4? Glimmer glean?
