Title: Danish oil on stairs glass help

Customer has got glass stairs banisters that have got Danish oil from the wood all over them. Well its not so bad downstairs, but gets worse the further up you get.

Dont really fancy getting a scraper to it and neither does the customer.

Anyone no of any chemical or technique that will get it off ?

White spirit or paint thinners on a cloth should do it.
