Post by: G O Cleaning on January 30, 2014, 05:41:52 pm
Received email contact from a yearly customer (customer since 2003)
Asked for prices for Roof clean, patios and driveway... large property, we have  cleaned these in the past. After the cleaning to take place in May.

In the email they have stated they will be seeking 3 other quotations ::)roll, should I be offended  :D

Basically , give your best price ! I certainly would not be offended but would expect the customer to seek comparative quotes .Ed

Put in your standard price..don't reduce .Just give extra value weedkilling ,residual weedkilling, clean out the downspout drains, wash the wall tops ,. You have the advantage that "your" customer knows the quality of your work  ;D

Go in with your normal quotation!!!  I never reduce my prices My Quote is My Quote.  I make it clear to customers and ensure they know that the quote is fair in the 1st Place.  You have a proven track record with them!

If your price is the same as the previous year then they have a reduction anyway. Write a reply and state that its good that they are to compare your quote on a like to like basis as they already know your high standard of workmanship. Also state that due to the ever increasing costs of fuel, equipment, labour, insurance and consumables  you feel your quote will be found to be more than competitive. Ask to see the other quotes.
I won't move on a quote either else it makes it look like you were trying it on in the first place.
I'm not short of work now let alone when the pressure washing season starts - stunts like this always makes me think I don't want their work anyway. I have had this sort of trick from a short fellow that owns a food outlet that people use with constipation after a few beers  :-X

we agree  ;D ;D
Initial reaction was dump, as we are so busy working 6 days a week since Xmas, by May usually booked 6-8 wks in advance.
Use several tradesman for years what they say I pay, I would never seek other prices unless something goes wrong, out of respect.
I have sent revised prices and yes they have increased, plus benefits from choosing us,will follow up next week
