Title: Less detailing
Post by: brett walker on March 20, 2006, 08:28:08 pm
Evening all

today ive been using GG4 with pure water and ive had hardly any detailing to do.  It doesnt seem to leave that residue down the sides of the windows like fairy does.  Its different blading off not much slide but you get used to it.

Im going to order some GG3 seems as im using pure water

Anyone else do this ?

I think this is a tip i picked up from Windex from Wavey Davey  8)

I,ve been trying gg3 in pure and I'm having trouble with it, unless I use much more than recomended and add a little fairy

This might explain something I saw the other day. I was watching two obviously experienced WCs do a house in Hendon North London. The area is predominantly Jewish     ( which means very fussy customers who won't stand for poor workmanship.) I was amazed to see they didn't do any detailing on most of the windows.
I thought they must know something I don't because I could never get away with that.
Could this be it?

Also, whats the difference between GG3 and GG4  ?

I reckon it's swings and roundabouts really.

You need less time detailing with GG3/4, but I can squeegee faster with a real fast slippy glide of Fairy.

Probably doesn't work out ant different, it's just which you prefer. :)

Oh, and GG3 is for soft water, and GG4 for hard water.
Or it may be the other way around. ??? ;D

Using pure water to do trad is fantastic compared to tap water.

And yes Rog.  GG3 is for soft water.

If I wasn't WFP knowing what I know now I would get a small RO and make water for my solution with it.

Cheers

Hi.

I once used gg3 or 4 & found that because there was no lather/soap to see I sometimes missed bits but did not see them because I could not see them!

My posting makes sense to me but I'am sure your thinking  ???

Kevin,

Same here mate, but my squeegy technique has improved since then; mostly!

I've tried all-sorts of stuff, GG4, Unger Fluid, Unger (that stuff you put on your applicator), but always gravitate back to good old Fairly.

I prefer it.

A dash of dishwasher rinse aid with a squirt of cheap washing up liquid. Just try it, Dai

First day with GG3 + pure water and im going to stick with GG3 instead of GG4 as i seem to get more slip with it and i done no detailing (except wipe the frames over) and went back to my fist house i done to see if it was ok.. apart from a few little spots down the sides it was perfect...

Try using sorbo glide. A teaspoon of that with gg3/4 makes it so much easier. You can get it from the same places.
