Title: Clabber hose reel handle sheared???
Post by: James chapman on January 28, 2014, 09:20:57 am
The handle on my hosereel just dismantled itself yesterday. It's still attached to the outside but just spins. Is it kaput???? Has anyone else had this happen? Or do I need to dismantle the whole thing???

Many thanks

How long you been using it for?
It hasn't 'just dismantled itself' for no reason.

Suprised to hear this, as claber stuff is generally top-notch, though I don't have one of their hose reels.

Post a pic!

Same thing happened to me. You need a new spindle which is available from gardiner poles, easy to fit.

Yes I broke one but the reel was about a year old

Ok

Undo both ends ,
You should be able to swap ends around
Same thing exactly happened to me last week,
The metal sides where handle is fitted have 4 screws, they all sheared through the thin metal,
Just using some washers I managed to use the bad side for hose connection, and the existing hose side, I used as the handle side.
