I just wanted to publicly say a massive thanks to Karl from Amtech UK who took the trouble to take basically a day out to help me on a hard floor issue today. He did this off his own back and just wanted me to get it sorted. He didn't have to at all - a true gent indeed.
By the way that Orbot was pretty awesome and soon made light work of it! On the job it made my rotary look like a toy in comparison lol and saved loads of time. It's next on my shopping list for sure:

What floor was it Kevin ?
-
It was linoleum.

Kevin I bought the Orbit machine off Amtech Uk last year, great bit of kit and really nice people to deal with. What was the benifit of using the Orbit, did he use the weight kit or just standard pads with machine.

The machine had the weights on Dave, and I think the aqua maintenance pads. The benefit was that it was quicker and easier than using a rotary. So I guess the beauty of it is, you could either charge a more competitive price, and still earn good money, or charge more because it does a better job!
I think this has surely got to be the best machine to date, to do all floor surfaces - including commercial carpets. I don't mean as a jack of all trades machine that does an acceptable job on all of them - I mean it doing a superior, unrivaled job for all floors (commercially).
Is that how you would sum it up too?
-
I don't believe there is another machine to equal this. I have only used it for carpets so far.

How does the orbot compare against a machine like the cimex, and which machine would you buy.thanks
-
Must admit I have been looking at this machine for a while now, but not been convinced, maybe I should look at getting a demo.

The video in the clip that Kevin has shown gives you the answers. If you have, or can develop the work for use with this machine then its great. If it sits in the workshop its a waste.

Hi Kev what was the issue you have with the Linoleum? Only used my orbot on carpets too, have stopped short of using the aqua strip pads as i still prefer using a rotary on hard floors. I also don't really strip the floors any more, only clean them and then re-seal. The floor you done did you strip it right back?
Mark.

No major issue Mark, it was just a query I needed answering on site with some products. I also wanted to see the Orbot in action. The fact that it removes sealers/polishes without chemicals intrigued me (fully stripping wasn't necessary, although it can do this without chems too apparently).
It was just quicker and easier IMO, and no chem usage was a bonus.

Its a handsome looking piece of kit !

Come along to the TACCA day.
I will bring both again this year and you can trial them side by side and see which you prefer.

Hi Guys
I too am thinking of buying one of these.
How easy are they to load/unload, the Cimex seems heavy?
Cheers

Easier than the Cimex Doug due to the way it folds up.
Not a huge difference in weight as such.
A wheelchair ramp makes light work of either tbh.
Bigger wheels (Orbot type) on the Cimex makes a huge difference for manoeuvring it.
