Title: Keeping in touch with customers

Hi guys. WhAt do you find most effective way of keeping in touch with old customers. For years my dad used to phone up all his old customers every 6 months to find out how they are doing and to see if they wanted any work doing. I personally send out a reminder card which tbh is not that effective. I know I work hard to get new customers and try to always do a good job. But sometimes I never hear back from some customers. I decided that year I'm really going for it and intend to use my existing database more.
What do you guys use or find works well?
