Title: Text scam
Post by: Jonny 87 on January 10, 2014, 02:00:52 pm
I just got a text today, it read as follows......

Have your windows cleaned for FREE by (my company name) in 2014.
Click here to get booked in.

I deleted the message, but in guessing if I clicked the link it would start sending me premium texts at 4 or 5 quid a pop.

They must go searching for businesses with websites, and from that they have got what I do for work, and my mobile number.

Curiosity nearly got the best of me and nearly did click the link.

If you get these just make sure you delete them and don't click.

Free public service from Jonny.

I got one as well
They are sent by a marketing company.they are doing it to show you what they can do i.e mass SMS text marketing.
you sign up to send texts for 12months to your customers  for promotions you may have on.
I called the mobile number it was sent from straight back but they would not answer,I then phoned their office and told them to remove me from the marketing list.

Can't beat a bit of automated sales funneling.

Now who was it I wonder who was banging on about this on here? Don't suppose it's him?

Ah looks like it wasn't as sinister as I first thought. No premium texts or anything. Just a sales ploy.
