Anybody got it? I need to get it but it doesn't look like a straight forward process. If anyone has a copy of their H & S policy, that has been accredited by CHAS then i would love to have a copy .......please!!!!!

Ian I've got Safecontractor stuff which may help, hunt it out tomorrow.
-
Join with Safe Contractor first then when applying for CHAS you fill out a small form as SSIP will already hold all details.
-
Does it need to CHAS?
We are safecontractor registered & it's been fine with any company we have priced up work for (house builders)
-
Local County Council are insisting on all contractors being CHAS registered
-
We are Chas registered -dependant upon the size of your business will decide how much detail you need to present fairly easy up to 5 employees but now we have 34 we have to have all sorts in place to get certification , just presented our paperwork and awaiting results.
Toolbox talks
quality policy, enviromental policy , health and safety policy
method statements

vehicle checklist
equipment checklist
ppe records
Induction records
Pat testing

We used to be with CHAS, and a few others. Opted out last time around as found zero benefits. Also dropped out of Constructionline for same reason.
Only with SMAS now which is all we need with existing Clients.
If your with any othe SSIP scheme CHAS isn't really necessary.
