Title: Internal Window Cleaning
Post by: jamie bennett on January 08, 2014, 07:55:32 pm
Hi Guys, looking for advice on whats best to use on internal window cleaning?
I do a clean in a  psychiatric hospital and up to now have been using ladders and a blade, but now the new part of the hospital is open and the patients can freely walk around we are no longer allowed to use ladders for safety. We don't have much space we probably have around 8 ft to be able to stand back from the windows on the floor, the height is about 35ft and the sills are about 10" deep as the window panes are in sections of about 12" high, we could even use a blade on a pole as we wouldn't be able to see the bottom of the window so we are looking for advice on what people use or recommend that they use that gives great results, cheers

Tie one of the patients to a pole and send 'me up there with a chamois.

Yeah its a bloody nightmare and they check from different levels of the building all the windows so what ever I use now has to do a good job

cheaper option would be to buy the unger cone adaptor, flat mop head and pads from wintecs, the green pads are the better, stick it onto an old pole and use a spray bottle with pure in, we use this on Harris poles for all of our commercials and get good results

Tell them if they want them cleaned to the high standards that  your company expect to provide, they'll have to accept the cost of access equipment.
