My personal opinion is that I'm not sure what Ford is trying to do. The front looks good to tie in the the Fiesta and Custom range but from the side they aren't pleasing to the eye. Fiat though have gone one better - ugly in the front as well.
Yes, they have uprated the payload to 1000kgs from 900kgs, but the internal size remains similar to the current LWB Connect. They haven't stepped forward with a van to slot into the Vivaro, Trafic, Scudo, Dispatch and Expert arena. So IMHO they have replaced the model with the same thing.
They have relied on the smaller cube Transit swb T280 and now the Ford Custom (when compared to all the oposition) to fill that gap.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks remarkably similar from the side profile view to a Citroen Berlingo/Peugeot Partner?:

My only interest would be to use it as a wfp van and am sure it would have enough space for tank, reel and poles plus a bucket for trad. (The L2).

spruce you are getting old they look fantastic

I must be. ;)
The short wheel base looks fine, but the LWB just doesn't do it for me.
Compare this LWB Connect to the latest LWB VW Caddy Maxi. IMO the Caddy looks better.
-
Yes the Caddy looks better but the payload is smaller and I guess it would cost a lot more. I would be tempted by the Caddy Maxi for my next van if they improve the payload.
Currently have an old shape dispatch hdi (8 years from new) which I plan to keep a few years longer. From what I hear the new shape dispatch is not as reliable as the old.

on offer apparently at local dealer already

Just been to look at one in dealers.
Very nice, really feels well made, seats are a massive improvement.
Tempting....
