Looking for a decent quality floor sander and edger, not necessary new, any recommendations?

We bought Lagler Hummels, Trio and Elan edger 15 years and 10 years ago and they are still going strong.

They are in use every day and we spend about £400 per machine every year in maintenance with new drum, roller and bags to keep them in top performance.

We recently just renewed one of the edgers for the Lagler Flip which the guys love. Its dust recovery is far superior to the Élan machine.

I cant tell you how they compare to other machines as they have done us proud all these years and continue to do so.

They do appear used from time to time but still command a good price. Floorstock will do a refurb on a Hummel for about £750 so bear that in mind when buying to make sure your machine is in top condition.

Thanks for that, I have looked at the Lagler range and thought by the price they must be good, not sure if i can warrant that level of spend at the moment. The only ones that appear on the second hand market all seem to be Hiretech ones

However if you buy a laser you could have a rave between coats thanks to the dust cloud.

Ian,

That was a bit pricey unless it was immaculate. Anyway if you do buy second hand I would suggest asking for the serial number, if it is a Lagler you should be able to check the provenance, if it is stolen it will be recorded and if you ever needed to service it you wouldn't get it back but you would have a visit from the boys in blue .
If you are interested in other brands let me know, I have an immaculate one use machine for sale from a reputable manufacturer

Jamie,

That's entry level stuff be very careful what you graduate on to.
