Title: WFP QUESTION "WATER FITTINGS REGULATION FORM"
Post by: Mr. S on March 18, 2006, 11:17:09 pm
Has anybody been asked to fill out, or enquired about one of these: "Water Fittings Regulation Form".

Within this form from Three Valleys Water is the following:

Notifiable items:
Description of the work / change:*
Proposed start date: *

Please tick box for each notifiable item:  A new building or structure
The extension or alteration of a water system on any premises other than a house
A material change of use of any premises
A bath with a capacity of more than 230 litres as measured to the centreline of the overflow
A bidet with ascending spray or hose
A pump connected directly or indirectly to a supply pipe and drawing 12 litres per minute
  * An ion-exchange water softener or reverse osmosis water filter unit  *
A Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) valve or other mechanical device for protection against fluid 4 or 5

Ive put a star next to the part of interest to us, It seems to me if we run a legit business (As we all should be) whether on a water meter or not, this is one of the forms we need to fill out. If so paying Business Water Rates means what?

Will the water board be able to stop our supply if we do this?

Can anybody shed light?

It could only take one jealous competitor (or anybody)to "grass" on us if there is a hosepipe ban.

As ive just gone wfp, a few customers have asked what ill do if there is a ban!

Just concerned and want to cover my back, and many other users on this forum!!!! ??? ???

I've been led to believe that commercial water rates are cheaper than domestic.

However, if a ban is introduced with certain streets' supply being cut off, and you get your water from the mains pipe to your house, you could be in bother.

Three valleys water told me that whether you have buisness or domextic rates if the water is cut off at the end of our road YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR WATER SUPPLY.

and if you do not own your house you can not have buisness meter without landlord permission which i doubt you would get as they dont like you to run a buisness from
home.

Have spoken to Three Valleys Water again.

They said you must be on water meter.
It can only be domestic supply unless you change use of property i.e shop/factory.
The water hose pipe ban will not affect us as we do not use mains water supply from the propertys that we clean.

The hose pipe ban relates to the use of hose pipe to water your garden.
To jetwash your drive.
To wash your car by hose.

WILL NOT AFFECT THE USE OF CLEANING WINDOWS BY W/F/P.

Cheers, but surely they will say something about us wfpers and our RO system. Otherwise why do a form like above asking about RO and DI filters?

(By the way Bel and Kev I got my Shurflo backpack and been using it since last week, how about you?)
