When custies are in I generally get paid (unless they pay online), but I end up having to have a 5 minute conversation with each. With 15 cleans in a day that adds up. The upside is that it's good for cashflow.
When custies are out I can crack on to the next job, but I don't get paid. I get home earlier and can get sorted with the jobs I have here (we live on a smallholding).
What do you prefer?

Out, I can work quicker without them knowing and getting the chance to say "finished already", whilst begrudgingly paying me ( doing the maths in their head as to my hourly wage, "and he's just a bloody window cleaner" >:()

in so i can collect the wedge, without having to come back for it.

out so i can bump all the bathroom windows ;D

Not bothered. I like the contact and find it builds loyalty in custies. If they pay on the day, good.

Its a quicker job when they are out but you have to do it better, there is one thing a custie always does when they get home and find the 'windows cleaned' card on the floor, yes you have guessed it, they check the windows, They better be done good!!

In... 90 percent of my customers are cash on collection so easier when their in.
If i was busier i imagine i would want them all to be at work and change to direct deb

Out!
I'd have them all out and paying DD if I could.
-
100% out...
Ive been doing my round for 10 years, so have a decent relationship with customers already.
Also, my round is slap bang on my doorstep, aswell as being really compact, so collecting isnt an issue. (not that I do even collect, they drop round mine or pop cheque in the post.
With them being out, you can get on with the job.

I prefer out, can blitz it then ;)

Two coffees and biscuits today - Mince Pies n Wagon Wheels haven't had those since I was a kid!
Often sat out in the garden or conny having tea and coffee chatting with the pets around and swapping plants and recipes and herbs and stories.
Can't do that when they're out can you?
-
Much better if they are out... Most of mine are pay directinto my bank which is good news... Occasionally they are in which is a good thing cus I can have a 2 min chat... But not every time....

It is important. You don't want your customers in a nightclub in their slippers, with a cut loaf and some milk.

Definitely out.
I don't want the custies to know how quick I do their windows.
