just got my gardiner pole and it oozes quality lol but not sure what size connectors i need as the pole hose is tiny, i thought it wolud be 8mm like my hose on my trolley, as you can see in the pics theyre massively different sizes, will this make any difference in flow etc causing a back pressure etc and what size fittings do i need?

Hi
Most use Ez - Snap fittings
http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/EZ-Snap_Range.html
-
yeah i been looking at them pal but not sure which size i will need?
-
the male with the 5 or 6mm tail will work , attached with o clips for the pole hose.
if your reel hose is 8mm internal then get the 8mm tail female coupling .

If you're in Cheshire, you could call into Corwoods & Co, they're in Northwich. Give them a ring to find out the shop opening hours? They have everything you will need.

im in stockport pal, bit far away northwich for me but might take a trip there in a few weeks as im gonna need some resin and i believe theyre pretty cheap for it!

Are you sure the larger pipe is 8mm outside diameter it looks like 8mm internal diameter to me, in which case you will need a 5mm internal diameter (male) to 8mm internal diameter (male) connector?

he never mentioned a tap .

Mitchell why are you being such an awkward twat? I am making a suggestion to him not you, you asked how it would work I showed you he asked what was needed I made my suggestion.

haha i dont want to start arguments lol
i sorted it guys went to my local window cleaning shop and got a 8mm female and 5mm male, fitted them and gave the diy trolley a go and works a treat but do need something to stop the flow of water like a tap or aquadaptor etc but not sure whether the pump will shut off or not on the trolley, it says 100 psi shut off but it doesnt stop pumping it just hisses like it vents pressure out when i blocked the pipes up??

i find using a tap with the connector attached is more prone to snapping when it gets snagged .
I connect mine the same way as gardiners do if you order it with the pole.
the tap has two 5/6mm barbs so pole hose into one side then another short length of pole his from the other side into a male connector .
done this way they are quite durable and you don't lose all the water from the pole hose or the hose reel when you disconnect.

I usually pick mine up. I am looking for a way to do it without connectors, could you describe your method for me please?

If any of your connections are not tight enough either on pump or hose the pressure will not build up enough to shut pump down , Make sure all connections are as tight as possible . Mike

cheers pal but i think my pump isnt a shut down type of pump as said in the description on ebay ive just read!
