get some decent window cleaning spray on a damp cloth, replace with dry cloth and scrub.

http://www.yell.com/biz/ivybank-hygiene-ltd-norwich-7394784/

ivybank hygeine sell window cleaning spray at about £1.50 a bottle if you buy a box of 12 but its brilliant for internal stuff.

Any make almost. Unger, Ettore, etc. They all do the same job.

A pole that extends to the length to do the job.

A 12" squeegee, a 12" T bar and a mop to go on it.

I see Dave you are on spot on with your recommendation, a damp little waffle cloth on the end of your extension pole spray a small amount of Beyond-Kleen and proceed to clean the glass surface then take off the damp cloth put on a dry one and polish off for a perfect streak free finish, no splashes no mess what so ever, it dosent get much easier.

What's wrong with an extension pole, a mop and a squeegee?

To my mind and in my experience, it does a much better job than using anything to do with cloths and is quicker regardless of what wonderfull glass cleaning spray stuff is used?

Forget all this wet cloth dry cloth nonsense.

Lay down a couple of towels and clean it properly with a Pole, mop and blade.

As deeege said mop and blade.
I'm not sure why so many window cleaners on here don't like or don't know how to clean internal glass.
Trad pole it down to a height you can reach then blade of at hand height with the applicator underneath to catch drips.

ditto and you will be far quicker ,even if  you just do straight  pulls you will get a better finish, imo
