I bought a 500 ro system in the summer from brodex but feel like something is wrong with its setup or running, it runs a 4040 membrane with 2 float gauges to see how much water it's producing 1x floats waste water 1x floats pure water.
When filling van it runs at
1.6 litres per minute pure
2.0 litres per minute waste
But turn the system on flush and still runs at 1.2 litres pure water and 3.0 litres waste so in my eyes this isn't flushing or am I wrong ???
Advice please please please thanks rob!!!

I've never used a Brodex system.
But when I flush my 4040 I usually get a bit of dribble of water coming out of the pure hose even though the valve is fully closed.
Although it is not anything like the ratio you have described.

Yes it's a lot :( I'm trying to work out how it's really flushing because something just isn't right here and I don't no how it cleans the filter when flushing

Hey. I have a 650l Brodex system van mounted. When you open the valve fully to flush, the float valve should literally drop to the bottom on the pure water production. Make sure you turn the flush valve fully open which should produce a dribble of water out of the pure. I always disconnect the pipe that comes out of the ro to stop the flushed water going into the resin. Had to rig up some thing different to the original system to achieve this. Makes it last longer. If the system isn't flushing as you think, give Brodex a ring esp John as he is pretty good in these situations.
Hope it helps

I spoke to John about this a few times and his answer was there all different and work different!!!!!
I'm getting bk on the phone after Xmas the system just keeps filling up when valve fully open

Sounds helpful ???
When you are flushing, have you tested the tds on the flushed water (waste) and the bit that comes out of the r/o before it goes into the resin? You will have to disconnect the pipes but it will be worth investigating. As long as the flushed water is high on the tds and the lower production of the pure will start very high, say over a 100 but then over the next 10 mins will drop to around 20 - 10 depending on your tap tds.

Ok that's a great help and a start thank you ;) I've not tested either as yet but which pipe do I disconnect from filter housing the centre one?

There are 2 pipes coming out of the r/o. One from the centre which goes into the resin and another that goes into the waste. Disconnect one and test the water refit. Then disconnect the other test and refit. When you are testing run it for a few mins and keep testing so as you can monitor the progress. If the tds stays the same then problems but if it gradually drops over a period then great. Just a thought don't disconnect at the point that goes straight into the the r/o otherwise it is difficult to direct the water into a bucket and you'll get the floor of your van soaked!, disconnect the other end and you can direct it into the bucket. If you get stuck give us a ring and I'll help you through it. :)

Hi,
Im currently looking at a 500 RO Brodex system but just wondered if you would recommend them. I see on here people saying they go into liquidation all the time but Brodex say this is untrue which is putting me off as they don't seem to be telling the truth.
Cheers,
Steve

I think the system is good neat and tidy apart from this little problem I have at the minute.. ;D
Poles are naf never used them and never will..
No they not gone bust had two systems fitted from them in 6 months

wicked cheers for the help I will do that..
Also cause the filter is still new surely the problems won't to Lite until 12 months time if it's not flushing right hey!!

If it's not flushing properly, you will find the r/o will become clogged very quickly and won't produce as much pure water and then you will use resin very quickly. Better to get to know your system and how it works!
