Fin - Isle of Wight to Eastbourne could be severe. There's also a strong possibility of storm force 10+ in the Channel tomorrow evening between about 9pm and 3am Tuesday so anywhere near the coast could really cop it.

Mate it's doing my head in , I've got jobs that need sorting before xmas and I'm on the train tomorrow to London for our match v Chelsea, IF the trains are running that is.

Same here. I've loads that I need to be doing. I was behind anyway and I'd promised quite a few good customers I'd be around during the week before Christmas but it just hasn't happened. Now the next two days will be a wipe out. Gusts to 70mph are more than just a possibility.

The end of the week isn't looking good either.

It now seems to be the same each year. This southern coastal strip seems to coping it more and more each late autumn/winter along with the SE bit into Kent.

Good luck with the game. I hope it ends up a better score than their last match.

8-10 am today possibly  then a possible full day tomorrow if the wind is not to strong only promised a handful of custys i would get round but with weather so bad at times what can you do .

Probably got more chance of getting more money by trying to collect on a few custys today who i know will be off for xmas . Mike

All those wet weather lads that say "Yeah, I clean I the rain. You've just got to train your customers and man up", well here's your chance, crack on then lads!  ::)roll

When they say it's going to be bad today, frankly it's like that where I am here in Wales regularly, and that's why I have spare days for wet weather.

The problem with the weather over the past week plus what we are going to get is the wind as a rule i will work in the rain but not in strong winds when it is lashing against the windows .

I went collecting last week a day after cleaning some houses and after some overnight rain and strong winds the windows when i checked them as i walked up to the house's did not look like they had been cleaned .

I even had the odd custy comment but i did say it was out of my control so you have got to tread with a little caution at times ,

It all depends on how much you really need to get your work done i only have about 8 hrs work to do as over the past 2-3 weeks i have been bringing a days work or more  forward and working 6 day weeks while i could as i knew i would be off for a week so why lose out so much and be getting in a panic that you cant get through your work in time for xmas  .

FORWARD PLANNING MY FELLOW WINDYS . Mike

What town do you live in Geoff?

I've got my own town, set side for just me.  It's called, 'Geofftown', not to be confused with Grifftown or Hectown.

This way, I am guaranteed to be weirdo-free.  But it does mean I have to travel a lot for work.

I live 14 floors up and I was just watching a windie trying to clean windows wfp along a road opposite.

He could hardly hold the pole upright for more than a few seconds at a time to rinse the windows. I was amazed he was even trying.

Not only that, being a coastal town, the windows facing away from the rain will just get covered in salt very quickly.

I am in the south west of Ireland. Been wet and windy here today, as it has been for the last two weeks, but have still managed to get a few done. I will be out again tomorrow for more of the same. I don't expect to get round to everyone who hoped to see me before the christmas holiday. But hey ho, what can you do?

John

On Saturday I went out to try to do a few, but the persistent heavy rain saw to it that nothing got done, but I did manage to rearrange some of the work for Friday 27th.

Over here most people don't want to see me between christmas and new year, so I am happy to have the opportunity to do some work then.
