We have a street full of flats that we clean using wfp...
the issue is, one little old lady uses a differant company, and she happens to be in a bottom flat.
So we clean the flat above and the lady underneath moans were getting her windows wet.
What do you guys do in this situation?
I've tried poaching her but shes having none of it ;D
We prob have about 30 flats down this street and she is the only one who uses someone differant. I could whip the ladder off but would rather not ;)

clean hers for free ???
-
Ask her what she does when it rains.
-
I dont do upstairs flats, simples ;D
-
We had same problem, so we offered to clean windows also, and they also refused. After a while they stopped complaining, but I remember getting stressed out about it ;D
-
I'm not surprised she moans, you're taking the pi55 cleaning windows above without asking her.
If I get an enquiry from a flat with windows below I tell them that I can only do it if they ask the people below and they are ok with it.

I always inform the people below what I,m doing and tell them I,ll rinse their windows before I leave, never had a problem...

Crack on.
Put polarised sunglasses on and earphones in.
Pretend you can't see/hear them.
They'll soon get bored.
Once I did trad a flat after it got dripped on.
She never moaned after that. I only did it the once but explained that I'm working and can't really get round her being dripped on.
I did say I'm always there 1st week if the month so she could rearrange her cleaner if she wanted.
I too tried to poach her but I am quite specific on pricing and she wouldn't have it.

If they are filthy then I don't bother. If they have been cleaned then it takes a few moments to put the brush over them - glass only.

I have 3 flats close together, all with older women living by themselves. One above another, and the top flat next door. One time, shortly after i started doing them, i had done the windows and moved along the street a bit, when the old guy in the downstairs flat that i don't do, came over and started moaning about the mess i had made of his windows. After pointing out that it was pure water, and actually cleaner than what he gets on his windows when it rains, i went back over and cleaned his windows, while he watched. I then told him that i was going to tell the old lady upstairs that i wouldn't be able to clean her windows again. He got all flustered and said not to bother, it was OK, just to carry on cleaning them, and has never mentioned it again!.

I had a woman contact the police saying I had 'vandalised' her windows.
The copper had a chuckle when I explained that the 'vandalism' was water dripping from upstairs.
Some folk eh

James, Just crack on ! I do flats and don't ask the ones below for permission . It's only water at the end of the day and when your doing five or six floors up , I wouldn't waste my time knocking on the doors , Ed

Its the water dripping on to the lower sills, then splashing back up on to the glass which is the issue.
The 'its only pure water, it'll dry fine' tactic doesnt work in practise
-
James, agree that the water is not pure but it is still only water , if you have already communicated with the customers below and offered your services then you cannot expect to do anymore. I certainly would not do any for free (and I have been asked ) Ed

That exactly my approach and I've never had a problem either.
By rinsing the glass, you cannot be leaving it dirtier than before you cleaned the flat above.
-
Its not your fault or your problem. Simple. I would never rinse over windows on lower floors thats like giving them a free clean.

Exactly there is a long standing legal principle that the person on lower ground accepts the drainage from the person on the higher ground.. That principle applies here .. If you don't like it buy / move to a house / flat which is higher up.. Not my problem..
