How do you WFP guys deal with these window vents. I am told that they can run dirty water down the window. Any advice would be appreciated.

Basically AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE :'( :'( :'(
You need to be very careful, I put a bit more pressure on the brush-head so that the bristles "fold" slightly, and push the brushhead up to the top of the glass, not worrying about the top of the frame.
When I first started wfp I flooded one of those vents, it took ages to clean up.
I think its one of those things that once you make a mess of one, the lesson stays with you and you wont do it again.

I avoid vents also you will only get problems trying to clean them.
I tried it.
Also i like to stand back further where possible so the jets are pointing downwards a bit more.

Downstairs easy, just do as above and then give them a wipe with scrim as you would've done before.
As for the upstairs..Against all the good advice, I decided first time around to try and give them a good old wash around and warn the customer that due to me cleaning the vent more thoroughly than ever before, ie getting a rinse inside a bit to get the black look gone, those windows may drip a bit from there and leave a few spots, but from then on, leave the vent alone and follow previous suggestions.
They stay clean quite a while if you are prepared for the first bad result, and I have found as long as the customer knows what is going on they are happy. In fact pleased they're getting a bit extra.
I have found it best that way, the vent is relatively clean inside next time round so you don't have to be quite so cautious round it.

I've a couple of properties where these vents are in the middle of a window on the transome bar.
They don't cause any problems. You'd have to try quite hard to squirt water up them. It's not difficult to avoid the ones at the top of a frame.
There is a difference of opinion here with regards to cleaning the top of the window frame.
Some do, some don't. Some do on PVC windows, some don't on wooden frames.
If you don't clean the top frame, just don't get it wet.

Thankyou ALL for your advise.
I am now in the prosses of building a DIY WFP.
Got the RO and Water Butts - Set it all up tommorow.
Got a Trolley - but going to try a Backpack combination - just waiting for the Backpack.
Got the pole an unger telepole - just waiting for one of Gary's brushes.
Hopefully next Sat I will have nearly 1000ltrs of pure water and the kit to go out and try it on Family and friends!

EASY JUST DO THE GLASS,FORGET THE WE DO THE FRAMES AS WELL LINE,SOME OF THE FRAME WILL BE DONE AS A BONUSS FOR THE CUSTOMER,BUT IF YOU DONT TELL THEM THEY WONT KNOW,BUT WILL BE PLEASED WHEN THEY ARE CLEANER IN SOME PARTS ;D

I havent had any problems with the vents as yet but i keep my brush on the top of them but the ones down stairs i give a quick wipe if i wfp

So, the simple rule is:
Don't get the inside of the vent wet and you'll be ok?

Think it was already said that after the first clean they aren't much of a problem.
I do a few houses with these vents and i just quickly and lightly run my brush over it eaxh time i visit.
Never seemed to have a problem or should i say no one has ever said anything.

on vents like those in the photo I do go over the top of them, but make very sure that no water gets up INSIDE them.
So far I've not had a problem with these vents, the only time I get trouble is when water gets up inside the vents.
Although on some wooden windows the vents are recessed and very easy to spray water into if you don't realise they are there.
The water doesn't run down over the glass on the outside, but there might be a problem with water getting inside the windows!!
I haven't had a problem with those as of yet because I have been careful not to spray water into them.
