What do you think?
-
I like it may buy one if not too expensive
-
I do like the idea that no rinsing is required afterwards :)
Can you buy them here in the uk yet as I can't seems to find them listed with the usual suppliers at the mo?
-
Would be worried about getting a bit of grit on the pad and scrapping the glass.
-
Don't think that would be an issue myself with the flow of the water it should rinse the pad at the same time.
-
Looks good, where do you get em
-
It looks utter rubbish, pointless & a very poor attempt at WFP replacement. I'm a trad wagtail fan but this thing is disastrous!! ::)roll

thats what i thought
-
Not sure how you'd clean frames as well as a brush does.
-
5 x faster ::)roll looks slower to me swivelling side to side. they wagtail pads are not the best for scrubbing.
-
Guess we will have to wait to see genuine window cleaner reviews first before we all pass judgment. I remember there was a similar knee jerk response from trad guy’s when wfp was first introduced. ;D
-
i think it will have uses probably more in commercial work, large fascia panels etc.
i have this type of scrubber from wagtail on a pole and i loved it
i assume the window cleaning warehouse will have them in stock eventually
-
Might be good for solar panels and velux windows.
-
the same probably was said about water fed poles when they where first bought out, think its worth a go if it saves you more time, might supprise us
-
from what I've been hearing windowcleaningwarehouse should be getting them in stock sometime next week
-
I did wonder years ago whether a pad might work better than a brush. I think you'd be limited though to the kind of work it was used on - it couldn't clean a frame and glass at the same time for example. I think the pad would clog and have a very short life.
-
IMO there is nothing this wagtail jobby could do even equal to, let alone better than a normal wfp! I can only think of negatives, no positives. ???

Trapped dirt, corners hard to get into it, dragging dirt along!
Are the jets above the wagtail then? Coz thats a clever idea if they are. So when you clean the top of the glass you can spray water straight into the vents ::)roll
-
If you caught the edge of a frame it's going to lose contact with the glass. Hmmm, maybe not a good idea at all.

This ^
The fella is certainly enthusiastic but I can't think of a single situation where it would be better than using a standard brush. Maaaaybe solar panels but I doubt even that.
In the video where he cleans the green sign it makes it look crap, no scrubbing power at all.

Play havoc with the aqua tap .

FOGWILL DIDNT SEE THAT COMING ;D
-
have you seen the water fed squeegee on youtube
-
oh and the jetstream is only 250grms?
-
well I've already had a play a making my own 10 jet wash bar on a chepo T mop as a test. I could not be arsed to cable tie the pipe to the mop so used it as it was ;D
To my amazment it actualy worked quite well on my filthy conservatory windows as I did not have to rinse afterwards either. The windows dryed out streak and spot free too so just goes to show the concept works in principle. :)
-
being a gadget person i will definitely try this one
-
I can't open Smurf's download, would someone be kind enough to post the picture of his, "10 jet wash bar on a chepo T mop".
-
Not sure if this would work as not allowing me to upload images for some reason

Tucker brushes, (the original wfp) from back in the 1950-60s brought out a brush with outer bristles and a foam centre which acts in the same manner. Ionics and Tucker have the facility to rinse above the brush from jets fitted above the brush and the trouble with that is three things:
1. on a windy day water will get blown above the window frame hitting the soffits, air vents, etc causing dirt to run down onto the glass after the water has dried ending in customer dissatisfied with quality of clean, Even if it's not windy: it will be hard to avoid hitting soffits, air vents and lintels simply because fan jets or pencil jets situated above the stock or at the top of the wagtail will be harder to control as limited space on some window frames. Can see the advantages of using it on solar panels, large shop windows and bus stop shelters though!
2. Foam will trap dirt and possibly any loose cement, snails, etc and possibly scratch glass, no thank-you!
3. wouldn't shift spiders nest in top corners, clean frames properly and would trap dirt constantly so you would have to keep removing clogged brush or wagtail.
Love how easily the wagtail swivels though, nice concept but not for me, I'm out!

Early days but looks good on video, will have to wait till its tried & tested on a broader basis by a lot of window
cleaners on different buildings then hear what the Pro's & Con's are.
-
Can you think of a pro?
-
Don't think i'll bother buying one.
The next evolution in wfp cleaning must surely be a means of drying windows straight after scrubbing and rinsing?
And I don't mean squeegeeing off!
-
Can you think of a pro?
I dont know what the Pro's & Con's are because ive never used one yet, being that its a prototype of sorts we
will have to wait till its tried & tested like WFP was when it first came out a few years ago.

I remain to be convinced and would like to see reviews from windies who are actually using these...
For me, on domestic jobs with awkward windows, small windows etc., I can't see how the pad will actually get into all the corners and frames and sills etc. Also think you'd have to be changing the pad quite often (that's what Wagtail want you to do!).
Given that wfp with brushes has been doing a great job already - if you do it correctly that is - I can't see what benefits the Jetstream will provide. I would feel that I would always want to rinse down afterwards just to make sure. On domestic work especially I don't think it would save me any time.
On commercial work with larger panes, small profile frames etc it could provide a time saving...
I'm not sure also whether its actually SAVING water either, given the number of jets it has you'd need to up the flow rate to feed them all and I would've thought a lot more water is being used - IMO anyway...

Smurf, how many holes did you drill in the tubing and what size were they, if you don't mind me asking?
-
Now, that might make a speedy soffit scrubber.
-
are you going to use those swivel joint things, if so where do you get them ?
-
Bump for mick.

Ahhhh cheers matey.

The jet stream at the moment is at about 270mph so it should make for quick window cleaning.
