It's fair to say it requires less than microsplitters, extended dwell times up to 20 mins it does perform well but i'd still use some form of agitation even if it's a pile brush because it still needs to get to all of the fibre

Always best when applied hot and agitated

Has anyone ever mixed it with cold water? Does it make much difference to the results or a definite no no?

Never done it but I would think it would have trouble dissolving

I like it hot but In situations like today where no hot water was available i always carry a kettle on the van just to get the powder dissolved and top it up with cold water.

By the time it leaves your sprayer, atomises and hits the carpet its probably lost most of its heat anyway.

the benefits of mechanical agitation cannot be overstated and if you do not do it then you are not getting the best results. A pile brush does not compare to a crb in any way.It is an essential piece of equipment for a pro.

In times of not having hot water, would you think a liquid prespray would be effected less as there isn't powder to dissolve? I use powder and liquid presprays, just good to know in times of not having hot water! Thanks.

Before I got a truckmount I used to carry a Burco boiler for end of tenancies where there was no hot water. Used to fill it when I got there and it would be red hot after about 20 minutes and provided enough hot water to finish the job. Use cold, nah.

got one 7l boiler/kettel in aldi 2 days ago for 35e. Going to fit it in my van. No more asking for hot water for chemicals.

the advantage of heat is a basic fundamental. I would not even attempt to clean dirty carpets with cold water. A sense of professional pride would not allow me to do it.

Ye I always use heat for extraction, never cold. Just wondered if it was proven to make much difference when a prespray is mixed with cold water, as cannon says most of the heat is likely to have been lost by the time it hits the carpet, just curious. Can't go wrong with a kettle though.
