I have a L5 heater at my back doors but what is happening is the heat is hitting the roof of the van and making it rust! as my van is only 1 year old this is not good :'(
Now the problem is the heater doesn't have a vent going over the top like this one....
Does anyone have a spare kicking around I could have, or know were I can get one (happy to pay)
help needed

how much space is there from the top of the heater to your van roof?
there should be at least a 2 ft clearance.mine is a bit more than that.no problems.

I've got the same thing poleman.
Been meaning to get round to it for ages.
If you can't get the proper shield, you could always get a bit of sheet aluminium and fashion one.
I think I've got some in the garage.
If I've got enough to send you a bit I will.

Hi Darrin
I did phone Corwood and Co Ltd were I got the heater from and they cant get hold of one as they say they come as standard with out them, however do a google on L5 and they all come with them :-\
I was thinking some sort of metal over the top but not sure were to get some and what type, if you do have some spare here is my email contact@smart-cleaning.com :)

I have one on my van easy to make I would of thought, just slots in the gap.
Why not get some silicone and some silver foil and stick the foil above the heater on the van roof, I did this as a backing to the heater just in case the ply its screwed to got hot and burnt. Still there ,about 4 years now.
