how much minimum would you say a company charge for a clean using a cherry picker at a height of 80+ft

Depends how much extra the + is I'd imagine...

been asked to quote and stupidly said yes! its about 80ft high but if i can get the right price, ill buy the extension poles i need for my pole! wanted to know what it would cost another firm so i can be competitive

It's difficult asking questions like that on here bud.
Those guys that clean Upto (say...) 30ft and are happy at £200 a day spit their dummies out when someone who cleans at 80ft says that they wouldn't clean for less than £500 a day.
Calls of willy waving etc.
I assume you've got an Extreme 47 now and are looking at HS extensions to get to 80ft?
I have done jobs where I've come out with no money but the price of a pole in the past.
I'd say to have that as your minimum cost.
6 HS extensions are £1,300(ish) so I'd say minimum price £1,300 + any other costs you want to cover.
You will make your money on subsequent cleans.
Are you going from 50ft to 80ft straight off?
Not to sound patronising at all but it's quite a different beast!

i was going to hit them for exactly what you said, for first clean only. Then drop it to like 900 every time after. if they say yes ill make purchase. if they don't, nothing lost! :-\

If you are not used to working at these heights and using access equipment, you NEED to speak to someone before you even think about looking at the job or you could end up getting in to something which could cost you and create all kinds of problems.
It is not the height you need to be worrying about it is the H&S which you will have to sort out and also the positioning of the building, ie: road closure, traffic management systems, noise etc
If you want to give me a ring i will do my best to give you information as to what way to go and possibly give you an idea of pricing something like that

These kinds of jobs are not for the inexperienced, the last thing you want is issues at 80ft, with an 8 tonne machine capable of doing a lot of damage to person and building.

sorry been a misunderstanding am not looking to use a cherry picker bud! i was going to upgrade my extreme pole.
But after all these years 3 members offering me advice.....really thank you the lot of you! all ya numbers are saved!

So you want to WFP at 80ft?
That's not easy either.
Depending on job, you may save yourself a lot of bother by doing it off a MEWP.

Working at 80ft is certainly not easy and is completely different than working at lower heights, even a few feet lower and you notice the difference.
Be careful and give it quite a bit of thought or even show someone some pictures and get their advice first.

WFP has it's limitations.
It's just another tool, not the be all and end all of window cleaning.

is there anyone nearby with experiance who you could take to show and get some ideas off, also is there any reason why you dont want to use a c/picker

it costs too much for the client! when i go ask em he might say yeah he seems desperate to have em done. road clousure is over 1K the picker then my fee! if i can do it with pole ill be over the moon!

I'm sure i've seen this picture before. If my memory is correct it is Jeff Brimble cleaning at 80ft.
Notice the angle of the pole. How much pressure do you think is going on the glass from the brush?

It's not perfect, but with good technique and water flow and rinsing off the glass it will get good results.
I was joking about the rinsing part. ;D

50ft is the highest I happily work every month, above that I'm out of my comfort zone, 63ft is my highest with a wfp and wouldn't like to do that height anymore. Takes some getting use to at that height waving a pole in the air, especially if the wind picks up ;D
